I decided on only 4 walking tours because that's all you need to cover the major sights of ancient Athens. I could have divided them into more but you'll see how to do that for yourselves. These maps below are a Harry's Greece Travel Guide Exclusive! I trudged all over town looking for good maps and came up with zilch but finally discovered the map you see below, right under my own nose, in my fathers book case! Dear old Dad!

Its a wicked rare map and even shows the old street names for Academias and Panepistiomiou St's. which were for a brief spell Winston Churchill and Franklin Delano Roosevelt!

First printed in 1950, just after the end of the Emfilo Polemo (or Greek Civil War) and when Churchill and Roosevelt carried considerably more influence than they appear to today.

That's the only thing out of date, as the Byzantine churches, city squares and ancient sites haven't moved one centimeter since this map was printed. There are a lot more cars now than then, that's for sure! The map doesn't show you that or the new tram line but it does show an old one that no longer exists - no big deal in my opinion since it was located no where you would want to go for tourism purposes.
