Dress properly and winter or summer, you'll find Greece is perect for a visit and a customized taxi or bus tour. Everybody knows that Greece is beautiful and has a lot to see but some folks are content to follow/mingle/be in the crowd when it comes to sightseeing and may have never given the subject of designing their own personal tour of Greece much thought. Admit it! Design my own tour? Why I never heard of such a thing! Preposterous!

But its not preposterous! People do it every day!

Because you can plan your own itinerary, doesn't It makes sense that in a country of small area, with a plethora of historic and natural attractions of great variety, that you'll get uncommon bang for your taxi/bus tour buck? Well you will! You can see more for less!

tour sights near athens greece- CLICK to see largerThere is one obvious thing to consider about when you arrive in Greece. In the winter, you wont do much swimming. Perhaps less obviously, in the winter, neither will you have as many tourists getting in the way of your photo fete! Spring up to July 1st and September through October are also less visited periods and when you can still swim.

Perhaps besides your own expecations of Greece you also have consider the needs/likes of your fellow travelers, like your kids or your husband, and right about now youre asking yourself just exactly how you can get the most out of your travel buck and still allow every one have their share of fun? You know as well as I do, that If you are traveling with companions, be them close friends, lovers or family, that you may end up listening to them gripe more than enjoying the trip. A Taxi tour expands your horizons and will let every one enjoy more of Greece! It will give you the edge you need and the mobilty you require to do more safely and economically. Whats more you'll have an expert with you the whole time! Think grasshopper!

greece sites sights mapGeographically no where in Greece is more than 60 km from the sea, so a short drive from those famous ruins you've dragged the kids to is a unique beach that you will all remember swimming from for the rest of your lives. Spontaneity that isn't possible on an organized tour is yours to discover or better yet, to sit down and plan in advance. Please have a look at the maps. I only had room put the major ancient sites/sights and left off a lot of things that you'll have to read the individual tours pages to learn about! The monasteries, great beaches, even more huge Frankish and Venetian Castles, gorges and natural parks. Tour buses don't go to all those locations! Greek National Buses are good and service extensive even to remote villages but where you definitely wont want to be stranded without conveyance.

Due to its mountainous nature, Greece is full of micro climates just as it was in ancient times. Micro climates and city states (there were over 35). These near by boundaries all around you require transportation to cross. Its not they are far away as the crow flies but rather that a big mountain is in the way!

So bear in mind that Greece does get cold and it does get crowded so book early if you are coming in high season.

greece's topography is mountainousThe warmer months and main tourist season begins in April and lasts until early November, peaking in August.

On the whole, the warmer months with the least amount of tourism are April, May, June, September, October and November.

August is high season so you will find many, many visitors at the major sights during this always sunny period.

If you prefer a more private encounter with Greece's ancient heritage and modern culture then consider a visit in a lower season such as just before Greek Easter time when the flowers are about to bloom! Early September or October is when people who can plan their own schedules prefer to visit too. Greece is sunny over 300 days a year but it can and does rain in the winter and snows in the mountains too!

However, the plus side to the snow, is that there is some fairly modest and inexpensive skiing to be done in Greece.

See what one happy customer has to say about Paul's Greece Taxi tours:

"My son Benjamin and I regularly smile to ourselves when we think about the days we had with you taking us to the sites of ancient Greece, some well known, others far off the beaten path. We went to Greece for Benjamin, a graduate student in Classics, to get to know the country whose ancient literature he had been reading. He knew the sites he most wanted to visit, and you only took us to those, some of which we had to really search for, but also you suggested places we needed to visit of which we did not know. Furthermore, you enhanced our sightseeing by helping us understand the culture more intimately than the average tourist ever can. The bottom line is that you made our trip far more productive than otherwise it would have been.

Your car could not have been more comfortable. And for a person as I, who knows virtually no Greek, your fluent command of English made all the difference in the word in enriching my sightseeing in particular and experience of Greece in general. Truly, you treated us as family, for which we will be forever grateful. I can't wait to go back to Greece to see and experience more of the country with you." Dr. David B.Gracy - Austin, Texas

map greece taxiTaxi & Bus Tours can go anywhere on the Greek mainland and to the Island of Lefkada!

In the Athens area: the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Temple of Hephastius, the view from Mt. Lycavittos, Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch, the Plaka, Marathon and so much more await you if you have the means afforded you by a Greece taxi or bus tour.

Greece Car rentals, while economical, mean you have to drive the car yourselves. Sure you could rent a car, but you have to go pick it up and take it back and you wont get a good deal as a walk-in or last minute customer. Even if you book in advance, the lower rates don't come into effect unless you rent for several days either.

Something else to consider is that Greece's mostly mountainous terrain and many of her switch-back roads have hair-pin turns and cliff top shoulders. But with a professional driver and an affordable Greece taxi tour, you have none of the hassle or inconvenience of driving and can sit back and do what you came to Greece to do! See the sights! The taxi tour will come to you for pick up and drop you off too so you can comfortably and reliably continue your journey what ever your destination(s). E-mail Paul for prices and availability

Famous Sights & Trust in Local Knowledge

Your taxi or mini-bus tour will enable you to see more in less time and in a wider area! Of course Paul specializes in Athens too and has a perfect half day and full day excursion you'll read about below. But did you also know, that just within a 2 hour drive of Athens, you can visit any number of famous Greek sites; Olympic, Mycenaean, Cyclopean, Medieval, Turkish, Roman, Frankish, Nazi? Paul Knows! Sights of great historical importance and natural beauty. Sights the tour buses don't go to. In the near by Peloponnese alone are Mycenae, Epidavros, Ancient Corinth, Acro Corinth, Olympia, Tyrins and many more. Two hours north of Athens lay Delphi and Ossios Lukas Monastery. Meteora is a bit further north and Paul your driver can suggest more as well!

I just have to mention the new bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world designed by French engineers which now connects the Peloponnese with central Greece and supplements the pre-existing ferry service.

Greece taxi tours win out!

When you compare what you get with a Greece Taxi tour and the price of seeing what you need to see by other more conventional means such as a luxury coach tour of Greece you'll be pleasantly surprised at our competitive rates.

What's more, you wont be constrained by the schedule of the tour company and can opt to see one sight after another without staying in a hotel - time and site hours permitting. With an early start, and a set amount of time in each location, you can see more in less time. Alternatively, if you find yourselves entranced by one or two locations in Greece you can linger longer at your own discretion. Most sights close at dusk and dusk is after 9pm in high summer! Taxi Tours are a good deal because you'll have a long sun-drenched day within which to enjoy more sights than a organized tour bus normally would.

Paul can also show you the best restaurants with the freshest foods and even help you bargain shop. Consult Paul about your hotel arrangements too if you need tips and advice as to how to best structure your itinerary for economy in all respects. Let him know the level of hotel accommodation you feel comfortable with in a general way, i.e. by star: 5*, 4*, 3*, 2*, the location you think you want to spend the night in and the number of guests. Bear in mind, that hotels located near some major sights like Olympia and Delphi may not be the least expensive or most picturesque options.
Ask Paul! Trust Paul because he really is the "honest Greek taxi driver".

    Northern Greece Taxi Tours

Macedonia pertains to the Greek history and culture for 4000 years. Around the middle of the 4th century B.C. Macedonia became the leading power of the Greek World thanks to King Philip II, father of Alexander thr Great who declared himself the Leader of a Greek Confederacy.

His dream of a Pan Hellenic expedition against the Persians was destined to come to fruition but by his son, Alexander the Great, who took his armies to the banks of Indos River. Greek art is thus expanded to the depths of East and is assimilated by local populations along with the memory of Alexander. The Great King shall survive through legends until the middle Ages and the European Renaissance. Sites that you can visit are: Delphi, Meteora, Volos-Pelion, Thessaloniki, Vergina, Dion, Olympus, Philippi.
