I made H.G.T.G. as simple as I could to use and filled it with what you need to know
in order to decide on what to see and do in Greece whether you have 4 days or 40.
Tip One: See Athens on the return leg of your journey to the Greek islands to avoid ferry cancellations due to the annual Meltemi winds See my See the Athens Guide and Greek islands overview. Arrive Athens early in the morning to make your ferry other wise spend the night. See the Greek island ferry tips.
Tip Two: That's me on the left 'chillin out' at the Oracle of Delphi where you don't need the Pythoness to tell you that early in the a.m. - which in order to avoid the throngs, for all major Ancient Greek classical sites is your target time - you need a windbreaker even in August. I just enjoyed the four day tour to Delphi and highly recommend it - check out the Delphi Museum snaps I took!
Tip Three: Sensible shoes/sandals and a hat you can fold up and even swim with while so accoutered are among the first things you should pack! See more Greece summer or winter packing tips. For stuff to buy here including clothes and souvenirs click.
This site is over 5,000 pages in size so to simplify all our lives, and in order to help you get started planning your upcoming trip or to just learn about Greece, I placed links to some of the most major stuff you should be considering seeing or learning about.
Info concerning Greece's top classical sights, 5 Athens walking tours, easy to read Athens walking tour maps, shopping tips and suggestions and a Greece museum guide to the best of the the over 100 museums in Greece. There is also a complete Greek food guide including street and fast food tips! At some point you are going to need a map so click here for over 100 maps to do with Greece.
